Privacy Policy

Eternal Notes is built to keep your notes yours. This policy is short because the app collects almost nothing.

What Eternal Notes stores

Your notes, journal entries, templates, collections, tags, and any photos or voice recordings you attach are stored only in a local database on your device. There is no account to create and no sign-up.

iCloud Sync (optional)

If you turn on iCloud Sync in Settings, your notes and attachments are copied to your own private iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, in your own private database. Eternal Notes' developer cannot see, access, or store a copy of this data — it never passes through any server we operate, because we don't operate one. Turning sync off stops new data from syncing; your existing notes stay on-device either way.

What Eternal Notes does not do

No analytics or usage tracking
No advertising or ad networks
No third-party data sharing or selling of any kind
No account, email, or personal information is collected by the app
No data leaves your device unless you turn on iCloud Sync (to your own iCloud) or use Export (to a file you choose)

Exporting and importing

The Export and Import tools in Settings write and read plain files (JSON or Markdown) that you choose where to save or open — Eternal Notes doesn't upload or transmit them anywhere on your behalf.

On-device speech recognition

If you record a voice note, Eternal Notes can transcribe it to text using on-device speech recognition. The audio and the transcript never leave your device for this purpose.

Children's privacy

Eternal Notes does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will ship with a new app version and the date above will change. You can always find the current version here and in Settings → About.
